Delta Childrens Village

Delta Childrens Village is a natural outcropping of the Delta Development Project's mission to improve the socio-economic and educational problems of  poor children and their families in developing nations, especially Africa.

After relocating from Sierra Leone to Ghana, Delta Development Project acquired land in 1996 on which to further its mission and goals of providing educational opportunities and to improve the standard of living for the children of Densu Delta Community at Weija in the McCarthy Valley.

The Delta Development Project (DDP)

was born out of the natural inclination for the improvement in the livelihood and living standards of the poor, with the goal of helping to solve the socio-economic and educational problems of poor children in Africa.

DCV Background

The origin of DDP (Delta Development Project) was in Freetown, Sierra Leone and was established in November 1989.

We served in Sierra Leone for about three years, until the war of 1990's interrupted our activities. We however continued our efforts in Ghana and registered with the relevant authorities as Delta Development Project and continued our activities related to our mission and goals. The focus of our mission is to empower children through education and is funded in part by proceeds from ETS DELTA GROUP

ETS DELTA GROUP is a development group comprised of board members and members of the advisory board. ETS engages in building and renting homes and shops (real estate development), travel and tours (people and places), education, mining (gold and diamond), imports (general goods and services) and charity works. 5% of profits go to support on going initiatives such as building and infrastructure at Delta Development Project, now DELTA CHILDREN VILLAGE.

In our charity work we focus on free and subsidized education delivery to children. We sometimes venture into non-focus areas, such as vocational skill development, empowerment of girls and women, health, water and sanitation, feeding and housing the homeless (orphans).

DCV Orphanages

We hope to establish a reservoir of infrastructure, equipment and human resources to educate and provide services to under privileged children around the world with a focus on Africa. We intend to under take this by, sourcing and linking globally to sponsors and donors.

Ten childrens' villages are expected to be built at different locations worldwide, in Kenya, Libya, South Africa, China, India, Brazil, Philippines, Yemen, and Armenia.

DCV Development School

DDS is currently sited on a 15 acre premises at Weija, Accra, Ghana, as part of the DELTA CHILDRENS VILLAGES (DCV). We presently serve 250 children with pre and primary schools providing free and subsidized education and meals, while our aim is to set up school branches around the world.

Current Projects Under Taken By DCV

Projects in Community Development, health and Education

DDP has on record, of undertaken projects with DANIDA (from Denmark), and JAICA( from Japan).

DDP (DDS), has undertaken contracts issued by DANIDA (Denmark Development Agency), in community water and sanitation for a continuous period of three years.

DDP, has undertaken consultancy contracts issued by JAICA (Japanese Development Agency)

DDP established a kindergarten, vocational and agricultural training school at LAKKA CAMPUS, in Sierra Leone to train the underprivileged, for free, for two years; the war of 1990's interrupted the project.

LAKKA CAMPUS In 1990, the Founder spent own seed money of USD 20,000 to lease a premise (likened to a school campus) to set up school complex consisting of a Kindergarten, a dressing making school and an agricultural school.

Weija Campus In 1996, a 15 acre stretch of land was acquired and fence-wall erected to protect whole land.
