What is Associate-O-Matic?
Amazon.com offers an amazing affiliate program where you earn up to 10%
for every sale generated from your website/blog. They take care of
order processing, collecting the money, and shipping the product to the
customer.
But building an online storefront or adding e-commerce capabilities to an existing Web site can be a daunting proposition if you're an entrepreneur or a small business owner without programming skills or access to software developers.
This is where Associate-O-Matic steps in.
In 2003, developer and entrepreneur Justin Mecham starting tinkering with Amazon Web Services in order to develop a couple of online stores, TVmojo.com and WirelessMojo.com. The code he wrote while creating these stores led him to build a whole new small business focused on helping Amazon Associates build custom stores for their Web sites and blogs without having to do any programming themselves. Mecham launched his store-building business and application, Associate-O-Matic, in 2004.
The application and the Amazon Web Services upon which it is built allow Amazon Associates to install and set up an online store in just a few minutes. They can tap into over 150 customizable settings that let them control the look, feel and e-commerce capabilities of their stores. The Associate-O-Matic application makes full use of Amazon Web Services' E-Commerce Service (Amazon ECS) functionality, including item, seller, list, shopping cart and browse operations.

Associate-O-Matic, developed by Gyrofly, Inc., is a commercial online store management system for Amazon.com Associates. It is PHP-based, using the Apache web server and XML. There are both free and subscription versions available.
Associate-O-Matic allows one to build and customize a complete Amazon.com Associate store in just a few minutes. The store can be standalone or supplement an existing website or blog.
There are dozens of settings for the customization of both the appearance of the store as well as the categories and items that are featured. its been a wonderful one..
I considered the $99 price tag to not be too bad because I've got at least 6 sites that I would be using this script on, not just one. I've probably got more names that I could set up Amazon stores on. (Too bad Amazon doesn't sell glocks or I could set up a little Amazon powered gun store at glockfirearm.com.) The admin panel is really impressive. You can customize every small detail very easily from the admin panel. It's actually fun!
Check out Associate-O-Matic for yourself and you'll be impressed with the available customization. When I get Associate-O-Matic installed and customized on my 6 different sites, they will all be different (unless I come up with some design that looks absolutely spectacular and there is nothing better or equal).

Is it hard to switch from the lite version to the paid version after you've set up shop? Honestly, I'm having a difficult time loading even the light version. Shows you just how savvy I am with this sort of thing! lol Posted February 02, 2008 |

continuing from my reply to wendy below - and you wont have the built in shopping cart feature, and the worst of all - real time reporting is not available..which really translates into..that they might jut sneak in more commisions to themslves than the 1 out f 10 they've mentioned! Well to be frank Wendy, the free version (or the lite version as its called) is really meant to benefit the creators of associate-o-matic! If you compare the free and paid versions of aom, you'l realise you cant have seo friendly urls..1 out of 1o times the sale wud go to them (aom creators) and.. Posted January 09, 2008 |
