The Writer Behind the Tale
Naranda will have all of the real attention on other lenses, but this one features me, more about me, and some of my history.
For Quick Reference
Charlene's Past
Every writer begins somewhere, this is my point of origin

I've been writing for a very long time now, I say since I was nine but after thinking back on it I realize that I was writing long before that. I think my first ever written work was a large comic book I made about a girl named Joy who solved mysteries, it spanned well over 7 very large hand-drawn books. Her story would have been interesting to rewrite as a children's story. But nine years old is what I usually put because that's what I remember most vividly; they are, after all, my closest friends or people I used to know.
I had a lot of time to write about them, because not much was going on in my life. I was homeschooled during kindergarden up to highschool and the only other activities I participated in other than video games were 4-H and Tae Kwon Do, which I honestly quickly lost interest in once I became shadowed by my sisters and their endeavors.
But, in time my parents split their seperate ways and things got worse, a large portion of my writings were lost forever along with my childhood memories and the things I cherished, putting a damper on my desire to write and my creativity...or so I thought.
Charlene's Present and Future
The crossroads between my fate as a writer

By age fourteen I was placed back in highschool, so the majority of my time was spent working on schoolwork and spending free time at band practice; I didn't take notice back then of the exceptional marks and comments my teachers were making about my writing projects.
It wasn't until college that I finally took up rewriting the story in notebooks from beginning to end with the excess free time I had outside of classes. But there was a time when I very nearly gave up writing alltogether and threw away my hard work, because of the messages and responses I was getting from my peers in a creative writing class.
Still, the books spent time wasting away on notebooks and computer disks until after I took a much needed break from college to move across the country and live for three years, when a friend encouraged me to try submitting and selling them.
I tried, to no avail, agents would not even look over my work, and those who did, had nothing but excuses to give me about why they would not represent me. I became downhearted...until he discovered two sites where I could self-publish my work, and from there I spent months pefecting the work and designing the cover which took the majority of my time.
After those three years I returned to my family where I finally put the finishing touches on my book before self-publishing it on lulu.com.My hopes for the future are to continue writing and publishing the series, as is most author's wishes.
