What's a Lensography?

Well this is what wikipedia has to say about the suffix -graphy :

The English suffix is derived from Greek, the abstract of the verb "to write", via Latin graphia. It often functions literally as a reference to writing (e.g. calligraphy, cartography, biography). However, it also has evolved to denote a field of study, particularly studies that involve some degree of collecting, cataloging and/or surveying (e.g. geography, demography, oceanography).

So basically a LENSography is a catalog of all of the lenses you have created!

Why Should I Have a Lensography?

Simple really, a lensography is a catalog or list of all of your hard work, why wouldn't you want someone to see that? It's a place where someone can browse all of your lenses in one place. When someone stumbles upon your lensography it's a link to your whole squidoo world and can provide traffic to some of your lenses that interest them but that they never knew existed till now!

So How do I make a Lensography?

If you don't have a lensography yet you can simply CLICK HERE to start one.

Here are the basics about making a lensography:

Make it using the Featured Lenses module : this allows people to see the picture associated to your lens and gives a small excerpt from the lens so that people can get a sneak peek.
ALWAYS have a picture for your lens : a bunch of orange squids (appear when you don't have a picture) isn't interesting and won't give people an idea of what your lens is about. People like visuals and visuals can be very helpful when it comes to attracting the right people to your lens.
Organize it : My lensography is organized by subject matter because I have several lenses that just group together nicely, if you have many different lenses you could organize it anyway that works best for you.
Update it : I hate going to lensographies only to find that they haven't been updated. If people find this out their gonna wonder how updated the rest of your lenses are and you don't want them starting to question you. Just add every new lens you make to your lensography right away.
