Wireless Driveway Alarms
Be alerted if someone is approaching your home
Wireless driveway alarms are becoming more popular and are often considered as part of the basic home security systems now, because they add a level of protection that moves your security perimeter from your front door and expands it out to the entrance to your property. However, they are not only good for warning of an unwanted intruder, but wireless drive way alarms can give you some advance notice if an unexpected visitor stops by as well, or they can help you know when the nosey neighbor might be sneaking up to the porch hoping to catch you unawares.
With the rise in identity theft, it is comforting to know that these wireless driveway alarms can also be a signal that your mail has arrived, or can let you know if someone is at your mailbox when they shouldn't be and might be trying to snatch your mail.
If you are expecting an important delivery, this is a good way to help be sure you are alerted when the delivery person has arrived. There's nothing worse than expecting an important package, missing the driver, and having to wait until the next day for them to try again.
Another common use for the wireless driveway alarm is to let you know if a child is wandering off your property. For instance, if your child or children are allowed to play in your drive way area, but not in the street, this alarm will let you know when they have crossed that line without you having to be watching every second. This way, the kids can enjoy, and you can still get the tasks at hand accomplished.
Do you have a special area in your garden where you don't want the kids or the dog playing? This is another great way to use this convenient technology. You can also know when someone is approaching the tool shed or swimming pool gate.
Most of these alarm systems for the drive way are easily adaptable for these other types of uses and many of the systems available come with one to four sensors, and more sensors can be added if needed.
If you have a system that includes multiple wireless driveway alarms, you can set up the sensors with the base so that it sounds a unique chime that indicates which alarm has just been triggered, making it easy for you to know what part of the property you need to check on. Adding wireless drive way alarms to your security plan is generally quite affordable, and can also be easy to install and use. Read More Home Security Tips here.

Keep Your Home Safe While You Are Away
Have you every wondered why a monitored alarm system is a great investment? It is because of the extra security that they can provide you with. Older plain alarm systems are good, but what if you are gone when something happens. You have to hope that someone will call the authorities. With a monitored alarm system you know that the police or fire department will be notified. That is the purpose of these alarms. The company that sold you the system will always have an attendant working and if your alarm sounds, they swing into action. Your home has twice the security when you use these systems. The most popular alarm system around is the fire alarm. Just to give you an idea of why a monitored alarm system is a great investment, then think about what would happen if your home caught on fire and no one was there. With this system the closest fire department will be notified and they will be on their way to your home in a matter of minutes. If you are at home but can't get to a phone the call is already being made for you. This is certainly a plus if you need assistance getting out of the home. It could actually save your life.
There are so many reasons why a monitored alarm system is a great investment. There is no better way to keep your home safe from break-ins. No matter if you are at home or away on a business trip or vacation, your home is safe. There will be someone monitoring it at all times. It will make it easier for you to lie down at night knowing that if a burglar attempts to break into your home you will have assistance in a matter of minutes. Your whole family will not only feel much safer, but they will actually be safer.
These are just a few reasons why a monitored alarm system is a great investment. The most important reason is because it can just simply keep you family safe. You have the security of double protection. You will know the second something goes wrong and have time to respond to the emergency, plus the company will be notified immediately as well. It is the only way to have complete peace of mind and be able to sleep better at night. An added benefit is that many burglars will avoid a home that has a monitored security system which helps to protect you even more.

Home Security Cameras
Learn more about how home security cameras protect you and your loved ones
The first kind of home security camera is known as a dome camera. Obviously, this camera comes in the shape of a dome and it fits conveniently on the ceiling of your home or business. You will find the dome cameras often times in casinos where they are used to monitor the tables. You will also find home security at its most fashionable with the dome lens. There are dome cameras that can be placed outside, however, you must use a special armor type in order to do this kind of mounting. Sony carries two different types of dome security cameras and they are a leader in the industry. You can choose from the Verifocal dome camera, which has the highest resolution (420 lines) and an adjustable lens. You can also purchase Sony's Infrared Armor dome camera, which acts as a hidden camera and is the most durable of all of the dome cameras. Dome cameras are the most popular security cameras because they are impossible to detect which angle they are viewing unless you are at close range. They come in black or white and they all have adjustable lenses.
The second type of home security camera is the bullet camera. The lens is long and resembles a rifle, which is where the camera finds its name. Bullet cameras are easily visible and can be mounted to a wall or a ceiling. They use a 12V DC voltage, and the power cable should be included when the camera is purchased. Most of these cameras will film in color and then change their resolutions to black and white when the light levels are lower. The resolution during the day is much better with the bullet security systems, but if you have an alternate form of lighting, like a streetlight, people can sometimes be seen from up to 70 feet away. The most popular brand of bullet security cameras is the SPECO CVC-6805SX, which is color and has a fixed lens of 4mm.
Many businesses rely on home security cameras at night. However, it can be hard to see the footage when there is no light. The infrared camera has built in lights around the lens so you are able to view your taped footage with ease. However, the infrared lighting can cause a problem when it is used at a home due to the glare that is created from the windows. Some people will think that an infrared camera is the same as a night vision camera, although the night vision camera does not have built in lighting around their lens. Prices can vary on the infrared cameras, but the most affordable home security model is the QSVC422 CCD color outdoor camera made by Digital Peripheral Solutions.
Security cameras can provide a cushion of comfort for a secure home, especially when you have an investment that you want to protect. A home security camera can scare an obvious thief, and also catch an unsuspecting one if it is a strategically hidden camera. Home security cameras have become more popular with people who own second and third homes, and feel like they need an insurance policy for their property, so to speak while the business owner has been protecting his own with security cameras since the advent of the entrepreneur. Just remember that it can never hurt to be proactive about your safety.
Wandering the Aisle of Home Security Products
What security alarm products should you consider?
People automatically think of alarm home security systems when they think of having a secure home. They assume that the only way to protect themselves and their things is to find a home security service that will charge them a fee every month, even though they may never use it. There are many other options on the market, and many of them are more affordable merchandise in regards to home security products. For instance, if you have some jewelry that you feel more comfortable protecting, and a safe isn't enough, try some photoelectric detectors. The detectors will create a beam that is not visible to an intruder, but it will prevent someone from passing into a restricted designated area. If you don't want to fool with the beams, try a biometric fingerprint door lock. The fingerprint door lock is a perfect accessory to home security because it ensures that only you are capable of opening the door; you or your finger.
Yet other home security products are the detectors. Many people think that there are only smoke detectors, but the truth is that protection has come a long way in building a secure home. There are now carbon monoxide detectors, your standard fire alarm protectors, and glass break detectors. There are different glass break and audio detector products on the market, but there are the industry standards as well. Visonic, a leader in the home security industry, makes a glass break detector with advanced acoustics which will allow for more sensitive abilities. Another company is DSC and their glass detector product is recognized in the home security system industry for being the only detector with two patents. Mace has a window alert system that will fit on any window without using home security alarm systems.
If you have a larger home, you may want to consider getting home security system products that reach beyond the normal parameters. For instance, a driveway alarm, door chime, or an announcer may be a wise choice so that you know who is approaching your home and when. You may also look into a siren, strobe, or speaker depending on how much attention you want to draw to a perpetrator. Although you may want to keep in mind that products are not human; they can and will malfunction from time to time. Ademco is a leader in the home security product market, and they are one of the best when it comes to keypads, sensors, chimes, sirens, strobes and speakers. Ademco also sells other home security products such as door contacts and recognition hand key systems.
You may also want to look into the option of making your home secure by placing what appears to be an alarm system outside of your door. When keyless entry hit the automotive community everyone was ecstatic. Why wouldn't you want the same security for your home as you have for your car? Visonic makes two different products that allow you to leave and enter your home without a key and only a password. There is a stand alone system, and an outdoor access control system that has more than one controller.
Home security products are important, even if they are in the disguise of a few stickers strategically placed around your home. However, there are so many new things on the market that it would be to your benefit to look into a few of them. Ignoring products that can help to make a home secure is like turning off your air conditioning in the middle of the summer and then paying for it anyway. You can always keep in mind that looking doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to be buying.
