New Profit Sharing Plan

Opcot Profit Sharing Plan

The Overall Goal: Create an opportunity for people to make a substantial income through social networking without forcing them to advertise or 'fake socialize' (make friends with and drop comments on people they don't know).

When redesigning the revenue sharing plan we wanted to fix many of the problems that other revenue share sites run into. To provide you with a complete understanding of how the plan has changed, and how it will most benefit you here is a list of common problems and our solutions to them.

Problem 1: The MLM problem. Having to bring in other members under you.

A lot of new networks are sharing revenue through a multi level program. You get paid on the members you personally bring in to the network, and the people they bring in, and so on. While this may seem like a good idea at first, take another look and you will see the flaws with this plan.

Flaw 1) This turns the network into a business. Instead of enjoying the features, making and communicating with friends, sharing stories, pictures, videos, all the good things about social networking, now you are suddenly pushing your 'venture' onto family, friends, and advertising instead of sharing.

Flaw 2) While a lot of money may come into the network, when you divide that money between millions of members, the share each one receives is very small. It's likely that the only people who will make any real money here are the ones that got in at the very beginning.

The Solution: Remove the need to get others into the network completely. While we do want you to invite your friends to Opcot, we want you to do it because of a great, free service, not because you need them there to make money off of their efforts.

Problem 2: Over-Sharing. Giving everyone a portion of the revenue.

Flaw) If every person who signed up receives a portion of the revenue, there is less to go around for the people who want to use a system for the income possibility. For example. Say MySpace decided to share 80% of the revenue (which would be an estimated $80,000,000 for 2008) with every active member. Now say in the given year MySpace has 80,000,000 members. The revenue share would pay out about $1.00 per person for the entire year, or less then 10 cents per month.

The Solution: Make it easy to qualify for revenue sharing, but make the business aspect separate from the basic community functions. Also make getting qualified require some involvement so the 'tire kickers' are not taking a share that should go to those who take the opportunity seriously.

Problem 3: Putting Business Before Pleasure: Making the business aspect of the community come before the enjoyment of the community itself.

Flaw) Most people are not looking for a business opportunity. Doing this only hurts the community by having everyone scrambling for the money rather then enjoying the service and socializing with real friends.

The Solution: Make the business secondary. Keep the number 1 goal to provide a great place for people to hang out, make friends, and socialize, while making the business opportunity available only for those who want to take advantage of it.

2008 Profit Sharing Plan

For 2008 Opcot is giving back 85% of the company profit to the members.
75% of all Opcot profits will go into a profit sharing pool, while the other 10% will be used for contests and as gifts to the members.

That's 75% of total profit from all members. When you qualify you will be making money from every person who comes to Opcot whether they are a profit share member, a regular member just using the services, or just a guest who has not created a profile but is just 'browsing'.

What you will receive as a qualified profit sharing member.

At the end of the calendar year the company profit will be divided into shares. Each share's value will be determined by dividing the total amount in the profit sharing pool by the number of shares earned by our qualified members.

For example, if at the end of the year the pool totals $10,000 and there are 100 total shares earned, each share would have a value of $100.00 (one hundred dollars). Say there are 5000 total members, but only 4 have qualified to receive shares.
Member 1 has 25 shares
Member 2 has 1share
Member 3 has 74 shares

The money paid out would be as follows.
Member 1 receives $2,500
Member 2 receives $100
Member 3 receives $7,400

How to qualify:

Earn at least 100 Opcot credits: Each 100 credits is worth 1 profit pool share. Partial shares will not be given

Once you have reached 100 credits, send an email to opcothelp@gmail.com to let us know you want to be included in the profit sharing. (The need to qualify may keep many people from getting a share, but the members who do qualify will receive a larger portion due to each share being worth more).

4 ways to earn credits

Upload Video (worth 1 credit each)
Upload Audio (worth 1 credit each)
Upload Photo (worth 1 credit each)
Make a Blog Post (worth 1 credit each)
*To prevent spamming each piece of media must comply with our terms and conditions (basically no hateful, obscene, or 'adult' content). Also blog posts must 'real' (no 1 word posting just to receive credit. A daily journal is okay, just do not post nonsense, these will not count toward credits)
*Also Video, Audio, and Photos must be of decent quality. Do not upload a 2 second video or audio, also do not upload a photo that is too small to see just to try and build credits.

100 Credits = 1 share in the revenue pool

That's it. We want your content. No commenting on random profiles, no begging family and friends to join, no need to use Opcot as an income stream if you don't want to.

Simplfied Summary:

Step 1- Upload content. At least 100 pieces of Video, Audio, Pictures, or Blog Posts
Step 2- Notify us that you want to be a part of the profit sharing program by sending an email to opcothelp@gmail.com
Step 3- For more shares just blog more or upload more media. After you have qualified we will automatically check the amount of earned credits and shares.

We are always looking to improve so if you have any questions, comments, concerns etc. just post in the comment section, send an email to opcothelp@gmail.com, or send a message to Adam at http://world.opcot.com/adamkirby.

Opcot reserves the right to change or modify the profit/revenue sharing plans at any time without notice.
