- Rats are nocturnal creatures. This means they are most active during the night.

- Never pick your rat up by his or her tail. It will hurt your rat and is cruel. Use both hands and support the rat's hind legs so it is not hanging by its front legs.

- Do not house male and female rats together unless you are ready to take responsibility for the offspring.

hi id just like to say i have one rat and he is 5 months old and a younger relitive picked up the cage by the top an the bottom dropped and it made a big mess right when i first came home with my new rat that i just got and i had to put in his cage and i had to clean the cage that dropped make it look nice again then i had to make it look nice again so i put the box that he came in (the rat) the bathtub closed the bathtub door and my younger relitive turned on the water and put soap on the rat and gave my new rat a bath!!! and now 4 days later whenever i hold my rat he shivers and its about 70-78 degree firenhight in my room where his cage is and idk whats wrong but im takeing him to the vet today and i hope everything will be ok!!!!! :) ???!!
