Los Angeles Guide to Celebrity Sightings

Since the birth of cinema over a 100 years ago, Hollywood has been a place where celebrities work, live and play. Traffic is often disrupted by black SUV's with cameras peeking out of their dark windows while restaurant conversations buzz with the latest Britney and Winehouse news.

As a result, Los Angeles has become synonymous with the phrase "celebrity hangout." In my 10 years of living in LA, I have seen dozens of celebrities in obvious places as well as places where I would least expect.
Read on.

Keep up with my celeb sightings on Twitter!

I really do run in to celebs all the time around here.

But first, who's into celebrity gossip?

I am! Here is a list of my favorite celebrity gossip blogs:

    Dlisted.com

Dlisted is a great resource for those with a sweet tooth for celebrity gossip. Michael K adds a lot of spice to his hilarious comments by being sarcastic and at times, downright mean.

    PerezHilton.com

If Dlisted is just too spicy for you, Perez Hilton's blog is a lot milder. He is actually friends with some of the celebs he writes about.

    And finally,

    TMZ.com

If you are like me and celebrity gossip is your addiction, TMZ updates its site a lot more often than the other blogs. After all, TMZ has dedicated a whole team of people to scoop out the latest news. Read this one to make sure you are never out of the loop.

Because I am a celebrity Gossip Junkie...

    Here is a Dlisted Feed!

Dlisted happens to be my favorite celebrity gossip blog.

So where do these celebrities actually hang out?

Why in LA, of course! But where exactly??

Below are the hotspots celebrities love to frequent in order to get their picture taken. Really, I don't think they go to these places for any other reason.

The Ivy at 113 N Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048

The Ivy is first on my list because this old-Hollywood, shabby looking restaurant hosts at least one celebrity a day. We're talking A-listers like Lindsay Lohan and the like. Yes, I am convinced that they only come here to bathe in paparazzi attention. Why else would you pay over $40 per person for a diner meal? Some may say that the Ivy is a cliche for spotlight addicted celebs.

Watch out for sneaky shutterbugs! They are always staked out in the bushes. The Ivy is your best spot to catch a celebrity and if you don't see one, at least you can pretend you're rich and famous for a couple of hours. And that's always fun, right? Good luck getting a reservation :)

    Kitson

Kitson is a humongous three-part clothing boutique also located on Robertson Blvd. By the way, if you defy the laws of LA and actually walk along that street for a while, you're bound to see a celebrity. Other than being packed with cutting edge trends, the store is most famous for opening its doors at 2 a.m. so that Britney Spears could shop in peace. Yep, just Britney and her 30 paparazzis.

    Katsuya!!

Gets two exclamation points because that's where I experienced fame first hand. Here is what happened:

While entertaining some friends from out of town one night, my group and I casually strolled along the walk of fame in search of a bar. Approaching Katsuya we were a bit surprised to see a bouncer in front of the restaurant but didn't think much of it. Two seconds later we were totally surrounded then blinded by about a dozen flashing lights. Almost in panic, we held hands while squeezing our way out of the crowd. We never even saw WHO they were taking pictures of! Might have been us cause we are that important. Just kidding!

Ok. Where else can you spot a celebrity in LA?

The following places are a bit less obvious. At first, anyway.

    LAX

You might be surprised to see Los Angeles International Airport on the list and that's exactly why it's in the not-so-obvious section. The truth is not all famous folk own private jets. Yes, they actually stoop down to getting on planes with us, little people. LAX supplies LA with our coveted celebrities, thus they must be seen there (so far I have only seen paparazzi.)

    The San Fernando Valley

My hometown at the moment! Let's just say there is a reason why the call it the Valley of the Stars.

    The Beverly Center

Saw Ms. Britney here a few years ago. A girl behind me pointed her finger and broke down in tears while I tried my best not to feel embarrassed for her.
