Everybody who has heard of it has their own opinion about Turbulence Training, but the vast majority seem to feel the same way.

Turbulence Training is an web-based fitness program that boasts maximum fat loss & muscle-toning results in minimum time. This is a bold claim, so let's take a closer look.
First off, I'd like to analyze the author and creator of the Turbulence Training program: Craig Ballantyne. Before even buying the package, I did some quick research on him, and found out that he's a featured writer for Men's Health, Men's Fitness, Oxygen and Shape. These are all top health & fitness magazines, so that made me more comfortable with the credibility of the information.
Plus, Craig is a certified personal trainer and nutrition expert, which proved to me he's a fitness expert worth listening to!
In my research, I also found out that Craig specializes in interval and bodyweight training. I was a bit worried at that point, because I wasn't too sure what this would entail. I was used to traditional cardio and weight lifting routines, (though I wasn't getting the results I wanted after years of doing it this way) so I wondered if this would be an easy thing to adjust to.
To be honest: Craig Ballantyne hates traditional cardio workouts! What do I mean by 'traditional'? I mean going to the gym, and running on a treadmill at a constant speed for 30 minutes to an hour. This kind of made me angry, because I had been doing this for so long, and now I was starting to see why my results weren't even close to what I wanted.
Anyway, after doing my initial research, I decided to pick up the program. I went to his website, and read the sales page one more time. I had purchased plenty of stuff online, so I knew the drill: I paid securely through Paypal, instantly received an email with my receipt and download page link, and got my entire package within 2 minutes! The Internet is pretty sweet, I have to admit...=)
Ok, so after I got the product, I started looking through the "eBooks" it came with (eBook is just a term for a PDF file). If you're wondering "What the heck is Turbulence Training?", here you go: Turbulence Training is a combination of resistance training and interval training used to boost your metabolism so that your body burns calories and fat between workouts.
Craig also mentions in his eBook: "Cardio doesn't boost your metabolism after exercise. Only strength training and interval training do that - while you work, sleep, and eat - your body will be shedding fat."
I think I'm starting to see why I could never seem to lose that last five to ten pounds...
The other thing I noticed after getting my product, was that I might actually be able to cancel my gym membership, because the dude hooks us up with entire guides on bodyweight & dumbell exercises and interval training that can all be done from home! No joke: this is not like those stupid infomercials on TV, trying to tell you that with their revolutionary new 'Ab Roller Ball 'device, you'll never have to workout at the gym again. This is for real. Serious, proven, simple, fast routines that are drawn out step-by-step for maximum results.

So, none of this matter without results, right? Well here's the deal: I started implementing Craig's Turbulence Training strategies into my routines, and after 4 weeks, I gave up...

...so did it work?

There, I said it. After using his techniques and following Craig's nutrition advice (most the time) for only 7 weeks, here are my results (using my Homedics HealthStation scale):
- Dropped 4.1% body fat
- Dropped 2 inches off my waist
- Added 3.2% to my muscle mass
- Lost approximately 33 lbs of fat
- Added approximately 5 lbs of pure, lean muscle
I also feel faster, more agile, and stronger. Not to mention my ab, back and arm muscles are all more toned than they have ever been! I have less lower back pain, I look better, I feel better, and I'm stronger than ever, and I have cut my workout times from 5-6 hours per week to 3-4 hours per week!

Wondering what kinds of exercises you'll be doing in Craig's Turbulence Training routine?Well, there are TONS of workouts to choose from, but I personally got really into the bodyweight exercises. Planks are one of the coolest bodyweight workouts I found...
Absolutely anyone can benefit from this exercise. While there are many excellent ways to burn stomach fat, planks are one of the best!
This is a classic exercise that fitness pros have been using to shed stomach fat for years...
Planks:
1. Lie on your stomach on a flat surface
2. Raise your body in a straight line and rest your bodyweight on your elbows and toes so that your body 'hovers' over the mat.
3. Keep your back straight and your hips up. Hold (brace) your abs tight. Contract them as if someone was about to punch you in the stomach, but breathe normally.
4. Hold this position for 10-20 seconds, and do 2-3 repetitions.
This workout looks simple, but it's actually quite difficult to do correctly, and it yields some amazing results!
After doing it for a couple weeks, and slowly increasing the duration and improving your form, this exercise will dramatically boost your fat loss and muscle gain around the ab area!
This is just one of the most basic bodyweight interval training exercises included in the Turbulence Training program.

Turbulence Training: Muscle Tone

The 1-Leg Squat:
1. Stand with your feet slightly greater than shoulder-width apart.
2. Pick one foot off the ground and extend that foot forward.
3. Contract your glutes, brace your abs and keep your spine in a neutral position.
4. Extend your arms forward or to the sides to increase your balance.
5. Start the movement at the hip joint. Push your butt back and "sit back as if you were
sitting on a chair". Squat slowly and focus on balance.
6. Squat until your thigh is parallel to the floor, but keep your lower back flat.
7. If you are advanced, you may be able to squat all the way to the floor.
8. Push with your buttocks, hamstrings, and quadriceps to return to the start position.
9. Complete all the given repetitions for one leg and then switch.
This is a very effective bodyweight workout to help tone your legs. This is also a powerful "complex exercise", meaning by following proper form techniques, you'll be toning your abs and other major muscle groups at the same time!
